Children’s Offerings
Ours is a program that provides faith formation beginning at nursery age through seventh grade. Infants and toddlers are cared for every Sunday in the nursery. Church School is in session throughout the public school year. Summer Church School is provided beginning on Father’s Day and concludes on Labor Day weekend. All children are welcome!

Our Youngest Ones
The Christian Education Board is excited to embark on new adventures in the Church School program using a new curriculum published through the United Church of Christ called SHINE. Our preschool students (three years old, by January 1st, and four years old) and our kindergarten students first meet in the Chapel and then head to the Activity Room located on the lower level for their classes.

Elementary
Our 1st through 4th graders use a rotational model for Church School. In a rotational setting, the same Bible story or theme is taught for several weeks. Each week, learners rotate to a different workshop. The story remains the same, but children encounter it in different forms in each workshop. The more varied ways children explore a story or concept, the more it is reinforced in their memories. Children in our rotational model us a curriculum developed by SPARK, a comprehensive, Bible-based children’s curriculum. Students first meet in Fellowship Hall following the children’s message and then go with their “shepherds” to the appropriate classroom on the second floor (unless otherwise stated).

Middle School
Our 5th, 6th and 7th graders use the “Seasons of the Spirit” lectionary-based curriculum. Youth in grades 5, 6 and 7 begin in worship with their families and then are dismissed after the children’s message. Grade 5 meets upstairs on the second floor in Room 205. Grades 6 and 7 meet upstairs as well, in Room 207. Each class has a team of teachers preparing and leading our students each week.

Church School Offering
Our Church School receives an offering each Sunday. Offering envelopes are available at any time for children or youth. This offering helps to fund a mission project, helps to provide scholarships to Silver Lake Conference Center and other Church School projects.

Holy Communion
Our church welcomes children to the Sacrament of Communion. Children are taught the significance of the sacrament in Church School. Children stay in worship for communion twice each year. Many will attend with their Church School classes or are invited to remain with their families in worship.

Children’s Nursery
Nursery care is available every Sunday for the entire worship service. We have several wonderful adults, including a registered nurse as well as some youth helpers who provide nursery coverage during worship year-round.
