Worship

Sunday service is held at 10:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary and is open to everyone. Bring a friend! Worship in our tradition is praise of God and teaching of God's word. Our music is a mixture of traditional and contemporary with choirs and instrumental music. Our congregation welcomes all with open arms. Childcare and Church School is provided year round. We are located at 1075 Main Street, Newington, CT 06111.

Following the 10:00 a.m. service, everyone is invited to Fellowship Hall for fellowship, refreshments, tea, coffee and punch. Our worship really begins with fellowship as the congregation gathers in the hallways before the service and as they continue nurturing old and new friendships.

The church is air-conditioned and is handicapped accessible with a wheelchair ramp and an elevator. Large print bulletins and headsets for the hearing impaired are available. Deacons wearing blue nametags are available during the service to help you with any of your questions.

All services are available to non-members as well as to members. The Church believes that a congregation needs adequate pastoral care and we provide two pastors as well as the support of a caring congregation. The pastors are available for calling on those in need of support, for counseling, and for consultation regarding the rites and sacraments of the Church.

We invite you to browse some podcasts of worship service excerpts.

Church School

Classes are provided for three and four year-olds, Kindergarten, and grades one through eight.

Lent

The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday. During this six-week period Christians around the world reflect on Jesus’ 40-day wilderness experience and prepare themselves for Holy Week and Easter. Worship opportunities in Lent include:

  • Ash Wednesday Worship
  • Agape Meal
  • Maundy Thursday
  • Good Friday

Holy Communion

Holy Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month throughout the year. Children are welcome and receive communion at their parents' discretion. This Church practices open Communion, which means that all Christians are invited to partake of the sacrament.
